Description of service

The geteduroam hosted services include:

• The portal under get.eduroam.org or any of its subdomains, authenticating users via SAML through eduGAIN and issuing privacy-preserving profiles and certificates to be used in eduroam authentication.
• RADIUS IdP services authenticating devices using the beforementioned credentials.

GÉANT project. Contact via geteduroam@eduroam.org. Servers operated by the eduroam Operational Team.

Jurisdiction

The data is hosted for GEANT by SURF in the EEA.

Personal data processed

The eduPersonPrincipalName and persistent Name ID is fetched from SAML enabled Identity Providers.

For some Identity Providers we only store the persistent Name Identifier.

Third parties to whom personal data is disclosed

Personal data is not disclosed to anyone outside of the edurom supporting services operations team.

How to access, rectify and delete the personal data

Use the technical contact above for any requests. To rectify the data released by your Home Organisation, contact your Home Organisation's IT helpdesk.

Data retention

Personal data is stored for as long as authentication credentials are valid and the logging terms (max 6 months after) expire, for the purpose of authentication, statistics and taking appropriate actions in the case of service abuse.

Your personal data will be protected according to the Code of Conduct for Service Providers, a common standard for the research and higher education sector to protect your privacy.
